Microsoft has acknowledged a “major outage”, with account issues across PC, Xbox Series X/S and other devices.
If you’re struggling to log into your Xbox account in order to play games, you’re not alone. Numerous reports of issues have popped up this morning, and Microsoft itself has now acknowledged the problem.
Describing the incident as a major outage, the Xbox Support page for the issue explains that impacted users “may not be able to sign-in to your Xbox profile, may be disconnected while signed in, or have other related problems.”
Meanwhile, “features that require sign-in like most games, apps and social activity won’t be available.” Impacted platforms include Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox on Windows, Android, iPhone, Cloud and web services.
Microsoft initially acknowledged the issue at 5.09am ET today, and is still working on the issue some four hours later. As yet, there’s no word on the reason behind the outage.
We are aware that some users are encountering errors when attempting to sign in or create an account. Thank you for your patience while we investigate this issue. We’ll update as soon as we have more — keep an eye on https://t.co/MGxnmqdcis.
