More than a year after Season 2’s finale, we now know when Yellowjackets will return — and you can plan a Valentine’s Day date for it.
It was revealed on Tuesday that Yellowjackets Season 3 will premiere with two episodes on Friday, February 14 on streaming and on demand for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime. It’ll make its on-air debut on Showtime two days later, on February 16.
In regards to international territories, Season 3 will also premiere on February 14 exclusively on Paramount+ in the UK, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and later in the year in France. We also got a very quick, 15-second glimpse at the upcoming episodes, which you can watch here.
Yellowjackets became something of a breakout hit when it premiered on Showtime in 2021, following a team of talented high school soccer athletes after they survive a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. It also jumps forward in time 25 years later, following the adult versions of the survivors as they attempt to go about their lives.
According to Paramount+’s announcement, Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes and pick up in the aftermath of that dramatic Season 2 finale. Hillary Swank will guest star in the newest season, along with fellow new cast member Joel McHale. They join a cast that includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, and Simone Kessell, with Elijah Wood returning in a recurring role.
For more in the meantime, check out our review of the first six episodes of Season 2, where we wrote that it returned “with some changes to the present-day storytelling that disappointingly weakens the overall plot from its fantastic highs in season 1. However, the post-crash story continues to be an engrossing exploration of extreme survival, loss, and madness.”
