Amex GBT rolls out AI-powered travel management tools for business customers

American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) has unveiled a range of new AI-powered tools across its travel, expense, and meetings management platforms, aimed at giving organisations greater visibility over business travel spending while improving the traveller experience.

The updates span the company’s Complete, Egencia, and Neo platforms, introducing new intelligence tools for travel managers, enhanced disruption management for travellers, and expanded capabilities for organisations managing non-employee travel.

The roll out includes an AI-powered Travel Manager Dashboard for Egencia customers. Powered by more than a petabyte of travel data, Amex GBT said the dashboard provides a real-time overview of travel programme performance, including AI-generated summaries and alerts.

Amex GBT has also introduced new spend leakage reporting within Complete, enabling travel managers to identify travel booked outside approved corporate programmes. The feature combines travel and expense data from SAP Concur Travel and Amex GBT, including offline bookings, to provide visibility into spending by business unit, travel category, supplier, and traveller.

The company has also launched new disruption management capabilities in the Complete mobile app. Travellers can now receive real-time travel alerts, rebook disrupted journeys through self-service tools, access airline fee waivers, receive personalised recommendations, and contact support through live chat without leaving the app.

Amex GBT has also launched Perks, a feature that integrates loyalty programmes, negotiated corporate rates, and supplier offers directly into the booking process. Initially available in Complete before expanding to Egencia, the functionality automatically applies corporate discounts and traveller loyalty benefits while allowing users to enrol in loyalty schemes during booking.

Drew Crawley, president of Amex GBT, said: “The business travel value conversation is shifting from ‘how much did we spend’ to ‘what did that travel enable’. We are investing in the technology, insights and expertise to support that shift so our customers and travellers can answer that question with confidence.”
