Avengers: Doomsday Concept Art Revealed

Marvel Studios has shown off new concept art for Avengers: Doomsday, revealing a first look at a fully suited-up Cyclops (James Marsden), Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.), and more.

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) mastermind Kevin Feige showed off the sneak peek illustration to attendees at the Bilibili World 2026 event in Shanghai. Pictures taken by the audience quickly flowed onto social media, with a more official version eventually shared by Andy Park, who served as director of visual development before being laid off earlier this year.

The Avengers: Doomsday concept art almost certainly doesn’t come close to spoiling all of the cameos and surprises Marvel has in store for MCU fans, but it does give us the best look at its major players we’ve seen so far. With just months to go before the latest Avengers team-up movie comes to theaters, viewers have been hoping for a little more than yet another still image, but there’s still plenty to pick apart here.

On the left we see (spoilers) Thunderbolts/New Avengers members like Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), the Red Guardian (David Harbour), and U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), as well as the return of Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and a short-haired Thor (Chris Hemsworth). The X-Men grace the bottom corner of the image, with the lineup here including Cyclops, Beast (Kelsey Grammer), Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), and Gambit (Channing Tatum).

While the right side brings back the cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, as well as Black Panther (Letitia Wright) and Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), the middle of the image serves as its true centerpiece. Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU as Doctor Doom will be the driving force pushing many to theaters this December, with today’s Avengers: Doomsday concept art giving fans a nice, clear look at his shiny metal mask. You’d also be forgiven for missing that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) can be seen maintaining the position we last saw him in following the events of Loki Season 2.

Even if the teaser image means MCU watchers will have to go more time without a proper trailer, it’s at least another step in the right direction as Doomsday approaches. When we’ll get a trailer unfortunately remains unclear, but the film is still set to premiere December 18, 2026.

The teasers are piling up as we go yet another day without a clear look at footage. Downey Jr. had fans spinning theories with an illustration he published for Father’s Day this year. Co-director Joe Russo teased that the new movie will put the MCU “back to phase zero” just last month.

Before Avengers: Doomsday, fans can look forward to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which premieres July 31, 2026. For more, you can read about the leaked action scene that was eventually pulled offline.
