Bank Balances Rolled Back for Forza Horizon 6 Players Who Used Exploit to Amass a Billion Credits

In response to an arcane but incredibly lucrative exploit discovered by Forza Horizon 6 players, Playground Games has confirmed that those who used the method to accumulate massive amounts of credits will have their balances rolled back.

“Players found participating in the exploit will have their accounts restored to a maximum of 10 million credits,” explains an FAQ on the matter published via the official Forza Support page. “As this error was on our side, no further action will be taken. We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we take steps to preserve the integrity of the in-game economy.”

The exploit, which involved placing a GMC Hummer EV in a specific, glitched state and subsequently entering matchmaking for The Eliminator mode was allowing players to rack up 999,999,999 credits in short order.

The developer has temporarily disabled matchmaking for The Eliminator mode in Forza Horizon 6 while it develops a fix.

In the meantime, the latest update has brought with it a variety of helpful fixes, including tweaks to road discovery and levelling up in the online mode, Horizon Play.

A ‘Roads Driven’ percentage has now been added to the region overviews, which will allow you to more easily track down any pesky remaining roads you’re having trouble spotting on the map screen.

Playground has also made adjustments to the amount of XP required to move between level 26 and 100 in Horizon Play. Hitting level 100 is attached to the Achievement ‘Maxed Out’, but some calculations were suggesting that getting to level 100 could take around 1000 hours of online play, which was not intended by the studio. Following the new update, players who have already reached level 32 will jump directly to level 100 and unlock the Achievement.

Playground has also addressed the issue of tunes with drag tyres being unrealistically advantageous for use outside of drag racing events.

“This is not the expected behaviour or use case for drag tyres,” explains the team. “To alleviate this issue, we have made some adjustments that ensure drag tyres are no longer the optimal tyre choice outside of drag racing events.”

“Additionally, we have retained the PI cost of drag tyres, meaning any tune that currently exists, for example, a tune that is A 700 will not change PI, but it will have significantly reduced cornering performance.

“The team are aware that this means there are a lot of Leaderboard entries that will need to be removed. This will be an ongoing process as we work to identify and remove any lap times that were set using drag tyres prior to this patch.”

The update notes can be viewed in full on the Forza Support page.
