Best and Last Crew Relive the Painful Good Times

At IGN Live, things took a turn for the Jackass, as Steve-O, Wee Man (Jason Acuña), Poopies (Sean McInerney), and Jasper were on hand to prep audiences for the upcoming fifth and final film in the gang’s film series, Jackass: Best and Last.

Steve-O joked that yes, every Jackass movie has supposedly been the last one, but promised this one really is, describing it as “beautiful celebration of the entire franchise.” And as for what it’s like to have a robot stick its finger up his ass in the new film? “It was important!” he exclaimed. “I’m trying to make putting things up our butts cool again.”

Jasper and Poopies were among the newcomers in the fourth film, Jackass Forever. Were they excited to be asked back for Best and Last? “I barely survived the fourth one!” said Jasper, saying he was actually scared when he got the call to return.

But asked if the new class would be interested in continuing on if the opportunity presents itself, Poopies said, “Of course, 100%. We want to prove ourselves and make the OG crew proud and I think it would be awesome to keep it going.”

The guys showed off some personal favorite moments from Jackass history, giving us a memory’s lane look at moments like Wee Man’s “Yoga Ball,” in which he held a red yoga ball while a bull ran at him. Asked what was going through his head at this point, Wee Man said his main through was “I just wanna live. Let me live!”

Steve-O meanwhile showed off “Alligator Tightrope” from the first Jackass movie in which he tried to walk a tightrope over a… well, you can guess. Wee Man chucked, recalling, “You told everyone you can walk a tightrope. After you went two steps, we knew you’d never walked a tightrope!” Said Steve-O, “I was prepared that my job that day is to be bitten by an alligator.”

Jackass began as an incredibly scrappy series shot on video. Asked about how things have changed for them, Wee Man remarked that on a performing level, “It’s still push record, do what you’re gonna do.” But Steve-O said it was notable seeing how “production grew and grew. in the beginning, it was literally just a video camera. We had no sound guy. Now it’s semi trucks and trailers.”

When discussion moved to how fun Jackass movies are to watch in a theater with a crowd, Poopies and Jasper recalled their own time as fans growing up watching the series. “It’s a beautiful moment! I might tear up thinking about it,” Jasper said. He noted he’d see the early movies with his dad, who would proclaim things like, “What the f**k is this?! What is this s**t?” — not knowing his son would eventually join in on it all, or that he’s be dragged into the “Tarantula Helmet” bit in Jackass Forever or come back for a second movie.

Jackass is a wild series, to say the least, with these guys doing everything possible and getting covered in everything possible — feces included. When it came to dealing with being covered in excrement, Steve-O remarked, “I feel strongly that the immune system that is a muscle that needs to be worked. So the more you’re covered in s**t, the stronger you will be!”

As for how to deal with being kicked hard in the nuts, Wee Man’s advice was, “Don’t think about it. just take it. As soon as you just relax and let go, that’s when it’s gonna be the best moment.”

With the Jackass movies coming to an end, the group were asked how they’d like it all to be remembered. Steve-O had a thoughtful answer: “A lot of people don’t like their jobs, they have health problems, trouble in the marriage… Their problems are real and entertainment is important to distract people from their problems. We’re not going to solve their problems, but is it a gift to distract people from their problems.”

Jackass: Best and Last will be in theaters on June 26, 2026.
