An eagle-eyed fan spotted an extremely specific location from Cyberpunk 2077 in the new trailer for Edgerunners 2, earning praise from the show’s official social media accounts as theories abound online.
Netflix dropped a new trailer and images for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on Thursday, giving us a closer look at Weak Kingsley, D, Roman Carax, and Talia Yang.
In the trailer’s opening shot, we see Night City’s skyline through a puddle. It’s a tranquil image that gets marred after what appears to be Weak Kingsley’s robotic arm — clearly damaged from some sort of scuffle — falls into it, while Kingsley (played by the iconic Clancy Brown) grunts in pain.
It didn’t take long for dedicated Cyberpunk fans to pinpoint the exact location of this puddle in the game itself, which they tracked down to a puddle right outside the Afterlife, a bar frequented by Johnny Silverhand and owned by legendary fixer Rogue Amendiares.
Their skills would give Rainbolt a run for his money, and even earned kudos from the official Cyberpunk: Edgerunners X account, who replied to their post: “You know Night City like the palm of your hand, choom.”

Still others can’t help but pick apart the data shard that D slots into his neck, which looks distinctly like a relic — an experimental data chip created by Arasaka intended to map out a person’s consciousness and imprint it onto the brain of another living person.
Relics are central to the plot of Cyberpunk 2077. One of them was used to capture Johnny Silverhand’s mind, which was later imprinted onto the protagonist, V’s, brain, kicking off the rest of the game’s story.
Still others are hypothesizing that this particular relic — if that’s indeed what it is — could contain multiple different consciousnesses, owing to a voiceover said by Roman Carax to D at the end of the trailer: “You’re a weapon? A weapon made out of people?”
Not a cyberdeck, I did this really quickly to prove it, its 100% a relic https://t.co/AfbTdcwOq4 pic.twitter.com/07ORxaBzkr

Previously, a fan by the name Kalenko on X discovered a slew of in-game locations referenced in the second trailer for the new Edgerunners season, which included shots of the bridge above the Riot club that connects Watson and the City Center, an aerial view of the front entrance of the Afterlife, the Deravaja Dojo in Little China, and Kabuki Market, among several others.
Edgerunners Season 1 also included many areas from the game, a favor that the devs at CD Projekt Red returned in kind by adding David’s apartment as an explorable area.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 releases on Netflix on October 20, 2026. In the meantime, you can check out more animated series the streamer teased on Thursday, which includes a new look at WiT’s One Piece reboot and a new season of Blue Eye Samurai.
