First Look at LEGO KPop Demon Hunters Set

First Look at LEGO KPop Demon Hunters Set

LEGO has revealed a first look at its upcoming KPop Demon Hunters set, featuring Derpy the supernatural blue tiger.

The previously-teased design, now officially unveiled as the 825-piece Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set, will be available from August 1, priced at $69.99. You can preorder the new set directly from LEGO.

The set includes two expressions, letting Derpy give off a goofy grin or have him open-mouthed, with his “Hello Friend” love letter stuck to his tongue. There’s even a flowerpot for Derpy to knock over, then pick back up again, then knock over again.

The set measures up as 8.5 in. (21 cm) high, 6 in. (15 cm long) and 6 in. (15 cm) wide, when Sussie is standing on Derpy’s head.

KPop Demon Hunters fans may mourn the lack of any LEGO minifigures in this set, though there’s still hope. The Huntr/X trio already turned up in LEGO form within Fortnite, suggesting physical versions of their minifigures may still follow. And with the KPop Demon Hunters franchise looking like it has a bright future, there’s plenty of time for more LEGO sets to come.

A full KPop Demon Hunters sequel is now in early development, with Netflix snapping up directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans as part of a multi-year writing and directing deal. However, a reported 2029 release date is apparently unlikely, due to the complex nature of mounting a satisfactory follow-up.
