The worldbuilding in Genshin Impact is undoubtedly well-thought-out as players who dive deep into the lore will find themselves understanding references many versions after the information was available. For example, upon reaching the Sea of Bygone Eras area in Genshin Impact, players will meet a Dragonborn Prince called Scylla.

Although the name may be new to many, this creature was actually mentioned in a lot of items, such as Song of Stillness (Fontaine forgeable weapon in Genshin Impact) and Golden Troupe artifact pieces. While exploring the Faded Castle and Remuria, players will also see evidence of the barbarian’s attacks and the plan to counter these “traitors.” Upon meeting Scylla in the ruins of Remuria, however, players will learn that history didn’t always go as what was written and known.

How To Use Scylla Ability In Genshin Impact

prince of dragonborn scylla tutorial guide in genshin impact

To use Scylla’s ability in Genshin Impact, players must swim to the prince, and then ask the vishap to summon a current.

Scylla’s ability is unlocked after players free him from his chain in the main Petrichor quest. He has two features in his companionship; one is that he summons a current that allows players to warp faster underwater, and another where he bestows his thoughts regarding surrounding objects. The latter is not really important unless players are interested in lore, but the former can come in handy to ease exploration in Genshin Impact.

After spotting Scylla, which can also be seen on the map, press the corresponding button (T on PC) to boost yourself to the whale.

Once players are next to the whale, choose Summon the current… This will change the interface where players can choose where they wish to boost themselves. Players can launch by pressing Normal Attack button, change the camera view by pressing E on PC, or cancel the process by holdingSpace on PC.

After launching, there’ll be a prompt to press Space (on PC) occasionally. Press the button if you wish to continue moving, otherwise, ignore it, and you’ll stop. The swim will also end if you hit an object, so make sure to aim properly if you wish for no interruption.

Using this ability for the first time will grant players the Vishap Corps Scylla achievement in Genshin Impact, which grants five Primogems from the achievement tab.
