I Found National Coffee Day Deals Worth Making Coffee at Home For (2026)

I Found National Coffee Day Deals Worth Making Coffee at Home For (2026)

For some reason, September 29 is a popular date for holidays. Happy Goose Day, Poisoned Blackberries Day, and Attend Your Grandchild’s Birthday Day to those who celebrate. But I personally will be celebrating National Coffee Day. (Not to be confused with International Coffee Day, which is the day after tomorrow.)

Created by the National Coffee Association around 2009, National Coffee Day used to be known for free and discounted coffee from places like Dunkin’ and Panera, but most big chains this year seem to be going with new releases rather than discounts. (See: Krispy Kreme’s coffee-flavored donuts and Starbucks’ new aerocano.) If you’re looking for deals, you might have to make your own coffee at home this year. Luckily, we’ve found some legitimately good sales—as good or even better than those seen during recent shopping holidays—to make this an occasion worth raising a mug to.

Coffee Subscription

WIRED reviewer Matthew Korfhage’s favorite coffee subscription for two years running has a multipronged deal running through October 5. Get a 12-ounce bag of single-origin coffee for $5 with any subscription, save 50 percent off pods for Keurig and Nespresso machines, and save up to $50 off gift subscriptions (e.g., six months is only $99 instead of $120). Pro tip: Coffee subscriptions are indeed an excellent gift for hard-to-shop-for recipients.

Lowest Price We’ve Seen on Our Favorite Super-Automatic Espresso Machine

Korfhage’s top-pick bean-to-cup super-automatic espresso machine does all the work for you—just fill the hopper and the Rivelia will help you choose grinder settings, extract your grounds, and even froth your milk. According to our price-tracking data, this is the lowest price this machine has ever been, with most sales sitting around $1,200. We almost never see sales like this outside tentpole holidays, so worth a look if you’re in the market.

Save $20 on a Plastic-Free Aeropress

AeroPress

Premium Coffee Press

Not everyone is cut out to extract their own cup of coffee by hand, but if you are, Aeropress is the fastest and best way to do it. Traditional Aeropress models are made of plastic, but if that’s not your thing, it’s worth springing for the higher-end steel-and-glass model while it’s on sale. Former WIRED director Martin Cizmar loved it for its ease of use and cleanup, and the espresso-ish flavor it produced.

Our Favorite Keurig Is 50 Percent Off

K-Café Smart Single Serve Coffee Maker

I know some people might find mere mention of K-Pods heresy on National Coffee Day, but these machines have their place in offices and households where everyone’s on a different schedule. If you’re going to go the pod route, the K-Cafe Smart is one of our favorite machines. WIRED reviewer and Keurig aficionado Louryn Strampe wrote a whole ode to the K-Café, which is normally $200. It’s got six brew sizes, adjustable strength and temperature, and a built-in milk frother for a more elevated experience.

Save $100 on Fellow’s Greatest Hits

Fellow

The Aiden + Opus Grinder Kit

Our favorite drip coffee maker, which retails for $400 on its own, “bull’s-eyes that delicate intersection between a truly great cup of coffee and an easy cup of coffee,” Korfhage says. Its sleek, minimalist profile also makes for a striking look on your countertop. The Opus, meanwhile, has just gotten a second-gen update that makes it a contender again as WIRED’s favorite coffee grinder for most people, according to Korfhage, who’s been testing the device this month. The Opus 2 is just as quiet as its gentle predecessor, but a new stepless grind system makes it a real contender for both espresso and drip. It retails for $200, so this deal is like getting it half off if you’re already in the market for an Aiden.
