Iron Man Game Trailer from EA Motive Seemingly Leaked With Gameplay

UPDATE AUGUST 28, 2026: EA has confirmed the Iron Man game leak is real, teasing that it has “a lot more to show” in the future.

The publisher confirmed Motive Studio’s Iron Man game leaked online today in a statement sent to Kotaku. It also directed viewers to a new X/Twitter account created in the aftermath of the leak. You can see its first post below.

“Well, that didn’t go as planned,” EA’s post said. “But now you know, and we’ve got a lot more to show you. See you when we’re ready.”

ORIGINAL STORY: Gameplay footage from what appears to be EA Motive Studio’s Iron Man game has leaked online.

Video for what seems to be EA’s long-in-development Iron Man game started circulating on social media today. It’s a bit more than a few cobbled-together clips, too, showing a (very unfinished) project that features not only Tony Stark’s Iron Man, but what seem to be a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier and potentially other characters that Marvel fans may recognize.

The footage, which appeaers to be part of a trailer from an early-in-development build, looks like the kind of thing you’d expect from an Iron Man game. Tony can be seen flying under bridges and through city streets, beating up armored bad guys in between shots of him tinkering on new suit technology, giving the impression that EA Motive is crafting something that will have players traveling around the world.

The allegedly leaked footage for the Iron Man game promises that players will be shooting missiles, using arm-mounted lasers, and throwing missiles at tanks. We won’t share any of that here, but if the footage does turn out to be real, it would seem rumors that Motive’s Iron Man game was canceled have been greatly exaggerated.

Interestingly, this isn’t even the first time this week footage for an unfinished Iron Man game found its way on the net. Monday, video for what seemed to be Avalanche Studios’ Iron Man game also surfaced online. It’s a different project that was rumored to be in development in the early 2010s before its eventual cancellation. While that team’s vision will never see the light of day, nothing is suggesting EA’s Iron Man will meet the same fate.

Motive officially revealed its take on the character almost exactly four years ago in 2022. Despite the immense amount of hype the Dead Space remake and Star Wars: Squadrons developer managed to generate at the time, things have been distressingly quiet since.

Our last real update arrived in April 2024, when the team reassured fans that its Iron Man game remained an “important priority” as EA brought it in to work on Battlefield 6. With little else besides a teaser image to keep fans occupied, some had started to worry the team’s Marvel project may have kicked the can. However, for now, the game is still officially considered to very much be in development.

“In parallel, development continues to move forward on our Iron Man project, led by Olivier Proulx (Executive Producer) and Ian Frazier (Creative Director),” Motive general manager Patrick Klaus said in 2024. “The team made excellent progress this year, hitting a major internal milestone and laying a robust foundation for the journey ahead. Iron Man is an important priority for Motive, and I’m very proud of the work we’ve accomplished so far.”

While it’s unclear when footage from today’s supposed leak would have been captured, it suggests Motive has been steadily moving along behind the scenes. In an environment where fans clamor for Spider-Man and Wolverine video games, an Iron Man game could (hopefully) have a lot of potential. EA had no comment to share when contacted by IGN.

While we wait for updates as Motive hammers away at its Iron Man game, you can check out the Tony Stark-themed popcorn buckets revealed for the upcoming Avengers: Endgame re-release. You can also check out our review of the VR game that released in 2020.
