Mars Attacks 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray Release Announced

Ack! Ack! IGN can exclusively reveal that director Tim Burton’s cult classic alien invasion comedy Mars Attacks! will get a 4K Blu-ray and digital release in honor of its 30th anniversary.

Mars Attacks! will be available for purchase digitally in 4K Ultra HD and on 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc on August 11.

The newly remastered film will also include new bonus content featuring behind-the-scenes bonus content of the filmmakers reflecting on the making of the movie, an exclusive clip of which can be viewed via the video embedded below.

The sci-fi spoof reunited director Tim Burton with Batman’s Jack Nicholson, who plays dual roles here as President James Dale and Las Vegas casino owner Art Land.

The star-studded ensemble cast also includes Glenn Close, Annette Bening, Pierce Brosnan, Sarah Jessica Parker, Martin Short, Michael J. Fox, Natalie Portman, Rod Steiger, Danny DeVito, Jim Brown, Lukas Haas, Sylvia Sidney, Lisa Marie, and singer Tom Jones as himself.
