A knife-wielding man was arrested Friday night for threatening crew members on the Brooklyn set of Miami Vice ‘85.
Citing information from the NYPD, TMZ reports that a police officer working security on the set arrested Alex Perez, 23, who has a criminal record.
“Perez can be seen being escorted off the set by a staffer before taking out the large knife from his sweatshirt pocket,” according to TMZ, which also posted a video of the incident.
“A cop on the scene then arrested Perez — who hurled the n-word at the production staff member while in cuffs — at 11:17 PM.”
The site reports that Perez has been charged with menacing with a weapon in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree.
Miami Vice ‘85 has been filming in New York this week, including scenes featuring Michael B. Jordan and John Leguizamo in that appear to faithfully recreate the opening moments of the original TV series’ pilot.
Director Joseph Kosinski’s film is inspired by the series’ two-part pilot (“Brother’s Keeper”) and the show’s first season in general.
