Nvidia Graphics Cards Are About to Get Even More Expensive

Nvidia Graphics Cards Are About to Get Even More Expensive

Nvidia graphics cards aren’t exactly known for being affordable right now, but it looks like Team Green’s GPUs are about to get another price increase, thanks to the ongoing memory crisis.

According to a post on Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Samsung, which makes the memory chips Nvidia uses in its graphics cards, has raised DRAM prices by 20%. In response, the article claims that Nvidia is going to raise prices on its graphics cards by as much as 30%.

Keep in mind, though, that at this time, the price increases being reported on by UDN are supplier-side prices. That will filter down to retail, for sure, but we don’t know by how much quite yet.

This wouldn’t be the first time this year Nvidia has raised GPU prices. Back in February, the RTX 5090 went up to about $5000, and hasn’t come down since. There was even a point where it looked like Team Green had discontinued the RTX 5070 Ti due to increased memory demand – luckily that didn’t actually happen. If the 5090’s price goes up by another 30%, the flagship GPU could go up to around $6500.

However, the price increases that happened earlier this year were mostly confined to higher-end Nvidia graphics cards. This time around, it seems like the entire lineup of Blackwell GPUs will be affected. Right now, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, which launched for $549 back in February 2025, is going for about $650. If there is a flat 30% price increase, that mid-range GPU will likely go up to around $850.

I’ve reached out to Nvidia for comment on these price increases, and I’ll update this article if and when I hear back. Regardless, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that more GPU price increases are coming. After all, Valve told us earlier this month that the RAM crisis is only getting worse, and it seems like Microsoft is worried that further price increases are coming, too.
