Taylor Swift Original Song Revealed for Toy Story 5

Pop-music superstar Taylor Swift has ended weeks of teases with the reveal of an original song for Pixar’s Toy Story 5.

Following several clever “TS” teases across social media and one (or two) mysterious countdowns on her website, Swift finally pulled back the curtain on “I Knew It, I Knew You,” a new song produced with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff. The track was revealed on her website and will be featured in the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, with eager listeners able to pick up three different versions of the song on CD.

There is a standard single version, an acoustic version, and even a piano version, with each available to purchase for $3.99. Each features different cover art and side B photos and is only available to buy for the next 48 hours. You can see all three in the image below.

In a press release, Swift and Pixar confirmed that I Knew It, I Knew You was inspired by Jessie’s story and is said to feature “a return to Taylor Swift’s country roots, blending styles that have defined her record-breaking career as a songwriter and artist.” Swift also took to her social media pages to confirm the news and share that I Knew It, I Knew You will be available to listen to June 5.

“You knew it! My new original song ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ for Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 will be yours on June 5th,” Swift said. “I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?”

The “Love Story” singer-songwriter’s announcement brings an end to weeks of speculation from die-hard Swifties who have spent their time picking apart details in hopes of learning more about the Toy Story 5 collaboration. An original song always made the most sense, but it’s sure to still rack up streaming numbers when it drops.

“It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song,” Toy Story 5 director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton said in a statement. “Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. The song is so deeply connected to ‘Toy Story.’ So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”

Toy Story 5 comes to theaters June 19, 2026. While we wait to hear Swift’s new song, you can read about the steps she’s taking to combat AI misuse.
