The Rings of Power is finally getting a 4K Blu-ray release.
The Prime Video series inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of The Rings has been a streaming exclusive since it first premiered back in 2022. Now, Amazon has revealed a spread of 4K Blu-ray releases for both seasons of the show, including some particularly gorgeous limited-edition steelbooks.
All of the DVD releases are now available to preorder ahead of their release dates in November and December, which will roughly coincide with the release of the show’s third season.
The Rings of Power Now Up for Preorder in 4K Blu-ray
Both seasons of The Rings of Power are getting the same general breakdown of DVD releases. Your options, listed in order from the cheapest to the most expensive, are a standard DVD ($39.99), Blu-ray ($46.99), and 4K ($51.99), as well as Amazon-exclusive limited-edition 4K steelbooks ($61.99). The standard DVDs for both seasons will all be released on November 3, while the limited-edition steelbooks won’t ship until December 1.
Season 1 4K Blu-rays
The standard DVDs for Season 1 all feature the same cover art. You get a look at most of the main cast, though the focus is on Galadriel against the bright white background.
The 4K steelbook for this one has some fantastic old-school fantasy vibes, coming in a gold slipcase with frames images of Galadriel on the front and the Great Tree on the back. The steelbook also comes with six collectible art cards, each featuring some ethereal photographed portraits of individual characters.

Season 2 4K Blu-rays
The Season 2 Blu-ray cover art takes the spotlight away from Galadriel and instead points it almost toward Sauron. It also goes with the black background, having generally “darker” vibes than its first season companion.
Along similar lines, the 4K steelbook for Season 2 swaps out the gold slipcase for black, and the small image of Galadriel for a darker still of Sauron. The back of the slipcase shows off a forge. The full steelbook also comes with six more collectible art cards, this time featuring particularly action-packed and rugged poses.

Rings of Power Season 3
The Rings of Power is returning for its third season on November 11, 2026. Because it’s been so long since Season 2, Prime Video has already confirmed the new season will kick off with a “Fellowship-style” prologue before diving into some tense battles and introducing new characters. While the show will once again stream exclusively on Prime Video, it will presumably get its own 4K Blu-ray release at some point in the future.
