Warner Bros. Pictures at Cinemacon 2026: Everything Revealed (Updating Live!)

Warner Bros. Pictures is taking center stage once again at CinemaCon 2026, and it looks poised to showcase some of its upcoming films, which could include Mortal Kombat II, Supergirl, Evil Dead Burn, Digger, Clayface, The Cat in the Hat, The Great Beyond, and Dune: Part Three.

There could also be talk of the upcoming merger with Paramount. No matter what they show, we will be here gathering all the biggest news right here so you don’t miss a thing. There is no livestream of the presentation, but IGN is in attendance, and we will be updating this article live as the magic happens.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum Teaser Shows Gollum Keeping His Story Secret and the Reveal of Jamie Dornan as Strider

We got a quick look at The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, and it showed Gollum in a cave speaking to himself, saying he must keep his story secret and that it can never be told. However, the biggest news may be that Jamie Dornan will be playing Strider / Aragorn instead of Viggo Mortensen.

We also got other casting news, including Andry Serkis as Gollum / Sméagol, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Kate Winslet as Marigol, Leo Woodall as Halvard, Lee Pace as Thranduil, and Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will be released in theaters on December 17, 2027.

Mortal Kombat II Clip Shows Johnny Cage Facing Off Against Baraka

Mortal Kombat II entered the arena with new footage that shows the end of Shao Khan’s reign. Liu Kang then challenges Baraka to single combat, but he declines, to which Johnny Cage calls them both a bunch of “giant f****** p******.” Baraka then decides to fight Cage as he finds him very annoying.

Cage notes he has “stuntmen to do this s*** for me,” and knows he can’t take Baraka. As he is dodging Baraka’s blows, he tells him not to hurt his beautiful face! Cage then flees into a hut with Baraka-like kids, and Baraka quickly finds him and throws him down in a put where he finds his shades.

He puts them on and dodges more of Baraka’s attacks before he drops to his knees and punches Baraka right in his junk, to which Jax replies, “Goddamn!”

Mortal Kombat II will fight its way into theaters on May 8, 2026.

Supergirl Director and Stars Discuss Upcoming DC Studios Film

Supergirl director Craig Gillespie, Milly Alcock, and Jason Momoa all appeared on-stage to discuss the upcoming DC Studios film, and Momoa even dressed up as Lobo and rode his motorcycle during his intro. Alcock was wearing a t-shirt with the Superman logo shape but with a different symbol inside it – like two C’s overlapping back-to-back.

Gillespie talked about how he wasn’t expecting the film to mostly off-planet. Our characters will visit six different planets, and Alcock had to learn five languages to do all she needed to do. Alcock also revealed that there is no real Crypto on set and it’s all digital, so there was a lot of miming going on. She’s also really excited that Supergirl can be the first female superhero some young girls will ever meet.

Momoa was then asked if Lobo or Aquaman would win in a fight. He said they’d probably just have hundreds of beers together. They then joked about making a movie where they team up!

Clayface Footage Asks Us to ‘Look Fear in the Face’

Before showing footage of Clayface, Peter Safran called the film a “riveting horror-thriller.”

Once the clip began, we saw a man in extensive face bandages in a hospital bed. It appears something horrible has happened to his face. It then cuts to weird experimental stuff and injections being done to him, and we learn the tagline, “Look Fear in the Face.”

The man then smashes a mirror with his fist, and then he appears as a normal guy in a bathtub who wipes his hand over his face. However, when he does that, his face completely smears like clay, removing his features.

Clayface will be released in theaters on October 23, 2026.

Filming Is Set to Begin on Man of Tomorrow Next Week

DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran shared that Man of Tomorrow will begin filming next week.

Tom Cruise and Alejandro G. Iñárritu Discuss Digger and Reveal Footage at CinemaCon

Tom Cruise and Alejandro G. Iñárritu were on hand at CinemaCon to discuss Digger and reveal some footage,

The clip we saw began with shots of a mansion, with Cruise (who is looking old and heavyset) holding a cat. As the song ‘Burning Down the House’ plays, we learn his cat is going to die and he is upset. He was told she has two week and “five minutes” left to life. He then, in a southern accent, walks around in his pajamas and tells a story about his grandpa when he is contacted by a guy at a drilling site.

He was told about environmental damage causing water to bubble up and endanger structural integrity, but he doesn’t want to shut down.

“I’m paying for everything!” Digger screams and curses. “You say the f****** word and it’s done!”

John Goodman, who is playing someone in charge, asks how this got by him, meaning how he caused millions of displaced people and left nuclear waste. Goodman says, “Digger here got us into this mess and Digger’s gonna dig us out of it again!’

We see Digger talking about a shovel his grandfather got in 1917, and Riz Ahmed yells at him, “You knew before all of us.” To which he responds, “Panic wakes people up.” Digger and Goodman then are seen on military planes dropping bombs onto ice, and the last shot is Digger bathing his cat.

Digger will be released in theaters on October 2, 2026.

Evil Dead Burn Footage Sets the Stage for a Gruesome and Horrifying Film

We were treated to an early look at Evil Dead Burn, and it opens with a woman opening a dishwasher. Someone walks in and says, “Alice… What’s wrong?” A man and a woman walk in and there is a knock on the door.

It cuts to a POV shot of the woods and then someone opens the door walking slowly and making weird noises. We only see her hands and then we see a seat back with the bottom of it sticking through her head.

The footage cuts to a funeral, and we hear a guy say, “my grandfather believed the dead would return if you read from the book of the dead.” Evil Dead incantation can be heard, and then some fingers are chopped off from a door slamming.

After some footage of a power saw, a giant wolf leaping at someone, and a girl drinking hot candle wax like a shot, we are back to the woman with a seat back in her head. She yanks it out and walks towards the guy in the house and he falls back onto utensils on the open dishwasher.

2027 Sizzle Reel Teases Some Big Adventures on the Horizon

Jack Black helped reveal Warner Bros. Pictures’ big films of 2027 with a song he wrote that was paired with a sizzle reel. Oh, and he also was shown announcing A Minecraft Movie 2.

In the reel, we say M. Night Shyamalan talking about Remain, his first ghost movie since Sixth Sense. We also saw Margot Robbie as Danny’s mom in the Ocean’s Eleven prequel that is set in 1962. Melissa McCarthy showed up as Margie Claus and hopes to save Christmas, and Hoult, Gunn, and Corenswet briefly talked about Man of Tomorrow and said there will be “a new villain and an unlikely alliance.”

Keanu Reeves was seen on the set of Shiver, which is a shark movie by Tim Miller, and Sam Raimi promised that Evil Dead Wrath will be “the most terrifying experience.” We caught a little glimpse of that in the form of someone cutting off their arm and someone puking up a weird blue color liquid.

Warner Bros. Is Planning on 18 Theatrical Film Releases for 2027

WB co-bosses Pamela Abdy and Michael De Luca took the stage to confirm the studio is planning to release 18 films in theaters in 2027.

Warner Bros. Announces New Label – Warner Bros. Clockwork

Warner Bros. Pictures kicked off CinemaCon by announcing a new label – Warner Bros. Clockwork. The orange logo feels like they are leaning on Kubrick ties. The first film of this new division will be Sean Baker’s Ti Amo.

Warner Bros. Heads Apologize For the Chicken Jockey Mess

Abdy and De Luca apologized to theater owners for the mess A Minecraft Movie’s Chicken Jockey made, but it was all a fun joke because that movie made so much money – $960.3 million.

When is the Warner Bros. Pictures CinemaCon 2026 Panel?

Warner Bros. Pictures’ CinemaCon 2026 panel kicks off on Tuesday, April 14, at 4:30pm PT / 7:30pm ET, and it is expected to run until roughly 6:30pm PT / 9:30pm ET.

What to Expect From the Warner Bros. Pictures CinemaCon 2026 Panel?

As we mentioned above, there is a good chance we’ll here something about many of the 2026 films on Warner Bros. Pictures’ slate, including Mortal Kombat II, Supergirl, Evil Dead Burn, Digger, Clayface, The Cat in the Hat, The Great Beyond, Dune: Part Three.

If we look into 2027 and beyond, there is the potential of such films showing up as Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, F.A.S.T., Man of Tomorrow, the currently untitled A Minecraft Movie sequel, The Conjuring: First Communion, The Batman: Part II, and perhaps even The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.

There is also the big elephant in the room: Warner Bros.’ upcoming merger with Paramount now that Netflix has backed out of the bidding war.
