A new free dynamic background has been released for Xbox users which features the cover art of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. Recent years have seen an array of new dynamic backgrounds come out for Xbox users for games such as Halo Infinite, Forza Motorsport, Starfield, and others. Even fans of big third party games like Diablo 4, EA’s Dead Space remake, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have been treated to free dynamic backgrounds on Xbox.
The sequel to 2017’s critically acclaimed AAA-style indie title Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has been a long time in the making. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was first revealed all the way back at The Game Awards 2019 alongside the first-ever unveiling of the Xbox Series X. Since then it’s appeared at a number of showcases and events with impressive new gameplay footage, wowing gamers who appreciate graphical fidelity and sound design especially. Now partway through 2024, Senua’s journey will finally continue, as Hellblade 2 is ready to release in just a few weeks on May 21.
Hellblade 2 Reveals PC System Requirements
Hellblade 2 developer Ninja Theory announces various tiers of system requirements that PC users will need to meet to run the game satisfactorily.
Ahead of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, developer Ninja Theory has revealed a new dynamic background for the game on Twitter. The background is simply Hellblade 2‘s cover art, Senua’s face being caressed by several unknown hands, with some light mist moving around her. Xbox users who are eager for Hellblade 2 can equip the background by going to Xbox’s Settings, “Personalization,” “My Background,” and then finally “Dynamic Backgrounds” to find the latest addition.
Xbox Adds New Dynamic Background For Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2
Some Xbox fans have voiced their displeasure at the background’s lack of motion. Neither Senua’s face nor the hands surrounding her move at all, just the light mist. Other dynamic backgrounds on Xbox feature a lot more moving parts, like the Needler fire flying by Master Chief in the Halo Infinite background or the Vault 33 door rolling open and closed again in the Fallout series’ Xbox background. Still, considering the dark and subdued tone of Hellblade, it can be said that the minimal motion of Hellblade 2‘s dynamic background plays into the game’s creepy horror atmosphere.
This is the perfect timing for Hellblade 2‘s dynamic background to drop, as fans will be able to have it equipped in the days leading up to the game’s launch later this month on May 21. Obsidian Entertainment’s yet to be released Avowed has already put out its dynamic background following the universal praise of its cover art earlier this year. Xbox fans can certainly expect another background for MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, as well as for potentially other major third-party releases coming this year, like Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws.
