X-Men ’97 fans have been waiting a long time to learn when the animated series will return to Disney+ for Season 2. It appears that the wait is almost over, as Season 2 is set to make its world premiere at New York’s Tribeca Festival in June 2026.
As reported by IndieWire, X-Men ’97 is among the numerous shows and podcasts featured in this year’s Tribeca lineup. We don’t know when exactly the premiere is happening, but the festival is set to run from June 3-14. That suggests that the series will make its streaming debut sometime in Summer 2026.
Further corroborating the idea of X-Men ’97 Season 2 premiering this summer is the recent announcement of the Marvel Comics project X-Men ’97: Season Two. That comic is designed to bridge the gap between seasons of the animated series. The first issue releases on June 3, right when Tribeca kicks off.
So while we have yet to see any firm announcements from Marvel Animation, it certainly looks as though the studio is gearing up to debut X-Men ’97 Season 2 in the next few months. Hopefully, official confirmation and a trailer will be along soon.
Until then, check out IGN’s review of X-Men ’97 Season 1 and our full breakdown of the Season 1 finale to learn more about how the series’ status quo will evolve in Season 2.
